  • Proposal Description & Rationale*

Circle Back Program (Josh Munson and Larenz Esplain) taught this course during the Fall 2022 semester as a special topics course and will teach the course again during the Spring 2023 semester.  For future semesters we are requesting that it to be listed as a permenant course.

ALTERNATE SECTION ADDENDUM*: This course satisfies program requirements for the Finish What You Started program.

For the Fall 2023 semester and subsequent semesters this course is being requested for four separate sections to reflect three seperate enrollment groups: (1) Academically Disqualified, reinstated students (2) students on any level of probation and (3) "Finish What You Started" eligible students.

We have been teaching this course to Academically-Disqualified-Reinstated (ADR) students and student enrolled in the Finish What You Started (FWYS) program, and would like to extend the reach and impact of the course to students on any level of propation. Offering the course to students on any level of propation will support FLC's retention and completion efforts.

Over the last year we witnessed that the ADR students need more structure and accountability that a course could provide. The FWYS grant program has requirements that are incorporated into a course and benefit returning students as they readjust to academia.

We would like to list this as a 2 credit course.
